Baltimore, Maryland (mdthermo.com) Nov 16, 2010 Corporation of Baltimore was chosen as one of the beta sites for early use of Pentaform® rigid TerraPET™ film, a renewable resource film from the Klöckner Pentaplast Group. As with standard APET films, entaform® rigid TerraPET™ film offers the same functional properties such as durability, performance, and brilliant clarity. MTC has successfully formed and heat-sealed the film to provide packaging & components manufactured in this material that are available to the industry today.

In an ongoing effort to lead the way in cutting edge sustainable materials, chose to work with Klöckner Pentaplast as its material provider based on their demonstrated commitment to new product innovation in today’s packaging environment. Made in part from sugar cane, Pentaform® rigid TerraPET™ films allow customers to replace fossil fuel based material with up to 30% plant based material. This film can be used with existing tooling and offers the added benefit of being manufactured with renewable content. Additionally, waste from operations is compatible with existing pre-consumer recycling guidelines.

is committed to providing sustainable packaging solutions and manufactures thermoformed packaging & products that can be heat sealed to coated cardstock along with a long line of products including blisters, clam shells, and trays. Pentaform® rigid TerraPET™ is a registered trademark of Klöckner Pentaplast GmbH & Co. KG.
