Food packaging is one of the most requested and used at Maryland Thermoform manufacturing techniques in food packaging because of the simplicity of production, low cost, high speed and high performance. Maryland thermoform food molding process, a pre-manufactured thermoplastic sheet is clamped in place and heated to its softening temperature. This softened material is formed into a cool female mold or male mold, by utilizing atmospheric pressure alongside a vacuum (vacuum forming) or alongside a slight positive air pressure (pressure forming). Upon contacting the cold mold, the softened material freezes and is held against mold surface until the sheet becomes rigid.
